  Imperial Valley College Expansion

  Imperial, CA

The Imperial Valley College (IVC) had its beginning on May 09, 1922 with the name of Central Junior College, opening in September that year. The Board of Trustees officially changed the name to Imperial Valley College in late 1951. IVC is now one of the fastest growing community colleges in the state. With nearly 7,000 students enrolled annually.

IVC will soon be home to some of the most state-of-the-art classrooms and laboratories in the region. Work has commenced on an extensive campus construction project that was funded by a General Obligation Bond approved by district voters in November 2004.

The $58.6 million measure includes a 67,000 square foot, two-story Science Building, scheduled for completion in 2008; a 52,000 square foot Technology Building and a 38,000 square foot Career Technical Building.

LandMark Consultants, Inc. is the geotechnical engineer of the record for this project. We conducted a geotechnical investigation in 2006 and  are currently providing materials and construction testing and inspection services during construction of the project.
